In March 2027, I will be taking part in the Arctic Challenge in support of the Irish Heart Foundation. I am undertaking this incredible challenge to raise much-needed funds for the Foundations life-changing work supporting people affected by heart disease and stroke across Ireland. I have also covered my costs for this challenge i.e., flights, accommodation, meals, transfers, training and equipment, thus ensuring that your donation goes directly to the Irish Heart Foundation. I am doing this in honour and memory of my father, Chris Mahon, who was a great supporter of the Foundation in his day. His belief in its mission continues to inspire me every step of the way. At my age, and living with a heart condition, I know some people may think I must be slightly mad, (yes I am sure, some think that already) to take this on. But something about this challenge struck a deep chord in me and made me feel that I simply had to do it - for myself, and in memory of my father, and to support the truly vital work of the Irish Heart Foundation. As Irelands national heart and stroke charity, the Foundation supports people and families affected by heart disease and stroke, and your generosity can help make a real difference.
