Seán O'Connor fundraising for Irish Heart Foundation in 2026 Heart Heroes Abseil Challenge

Heights terrify me. Looking up at tall things (insert Seán is short joke here) and looking down from them puts the fear of god in me So why am I doing this challenge? Your heart is your engine. Without it everything stops and stops quickly. My dad not too long ago had a heart attack and the only thing that terrifies me more than heights is the thought of losing those close to me and that day we certainly could of had it not been for Dublin Fire Brigade. Anything I can do to help an association like the Irish heart Foundation in the work they do I want to do to Educate and Support people with Heart issues and their families I want to do. Even if it may give me a heart attack myself. Every donation you make helps support Irish Heart Foundation, and brings us one step closer to making a real difference. Whether it's €2, €20 or €200, your support means the world to me

About Irish Heart Foundation

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a leading cause of death in both men and women. The tragic reality is – around 16 people will have a heart attack today. Just today, and every other day. And on each of those days, 20 others will have a stroke. These are extraordinary and stark facts. But the equally remarkable – and hopeful – reality is: 80% of early heart disease and stroke cases are preventable. That’s why the Irish Heart Foundation has been here for 60 years. Here to lead the charge to protect the cardiovascular health of everyone in Ireland. Here, to eliminate preventable death or disability. Here to collaborate. Here, not just as one of Ireland’s most trusted and effective charities, but to build a lifesaving movement across the country. We are here regardless of age, background or means. Here for every community, every school, and every workplace. Here for every heartbeat.
