Capes will be provided to all participants on the day…costumes are optional 😉 The Generator tower has been a part of Dublin’s iconic skyline since 1895 and from the top, you will enjoy breathtaking views of Dublin, stretching as far as Howth and Killiney. No abseiling experience is required. Our experienced, qualified instructors will guide you through every step of your abseil and all safety equipment will be provided.

We ask everyone to raise this amount for us to cover essential event-associated costs, while raising as much as possible for the Irish Heart Foundation. Our team are on hand to provide you with the support you need to hit this target.
The abseil is being operated by Big Bang Productions. Their expert team will be there on the day managing and controlling the abseil.
There is no need to worry about practicing and no prior experience is required. You will be fitted with all the equipment you need and given full instructions by a member of the Big Bang Productions Team.
However, please be sure that you are fit and able for climbing the tower stairs and then descending by abseil on the day.
If any of the following apply, you must seek medical advice before participating and must sign a non-standard waiver:
– Aged 65 years or above
– High blood pressure
– Heart condition
– Suffer from dizziness or epilepsy
– Damage to neck, back, spinal column, legs or eyes
– Asthma
– Medication

The minimum age for those taking part in the abseil is 18.
There is a 120kg weight limit for the abseil.
Yes. They will not be able to go to the top of the tower, however; they are more than welcome to come along, watch you abseil down the tower and celebrate with you at the bottom.
Yes, and while we welcome anyone who wants to do the abseil in fancy dress, please do not wear bulky costumes as they could interfere with the harness or helmet. If our instructors deem your costume unsafe, they will ask you to remove it before you can take part.
You will receive your cape when you sign in on the day of the event.
If for any reason the event can’t go ahead on the day, it will be re-arranged for a later date.
